Caerwyn Evans has been the Director of Tennis at the Shadow Mountain Resort & Club for almost 10 years, building a season round program that offers elaborate adult and junior instruction for players from all over the country, especially during the BNP Paribas Open, servicing over 600 players in the month of March alone!

He is also the Tournament Director of the Wilson World Tennis Classic; the largest adult ages tennis tournament in the United States which is coming into its 38th year in 2023.

Originally from the West of Australia in Perth, Caerwyn was educated at one of Australia’s top schools (Hale School). Whilst at school, he become a member of Western Australia’s State Grade Elite Junior Tennis Program where he began playing competitively at age 12. After graduating in 1999, he started coaching tennis in Australia before heading to the United States, eventually landing in Palm Desert where he took a position at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden where he taught students of all ages focusing on junior program development. Caerwyn has become a true American – Australian.
